As speculation regarding a potential romance between Ben Affleck and Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy emerged over the weekend, a spokesperson for the actor has dismissed the claims as untrue. Jen Allen, Affleck’s representative, stated to Fox News Digital, “The rumors are not true.”

Reports earlier in the week from multiple sources indicated that Affleck and Kennedy, who have reportedly been linked since early spring, have been frequently spending time together. An insider shared with People magazine that Kennedy has long had a crush on Affleck, noting, “Kick’s celeb crush has always been Ben.”

Kennedy has previously been romantically associated with Harper Simon, the son of Paul Simon, and the late billionaire Matthew Mellon. Despite the rumors, Affleck appears to be in good spirits, as evidenced by a recent photo showing him smiling while picking up a food delivery outside his rental home in Los Angeles.

Affleck is currently navigating a divorce from Jennifer Lopez, who filed for divorce in Los Angeles County Court on Tuesday, citing “irreconcilable differences.” According to court documents, Lopez reported their separation date as April 26 and noted that neither party would be seeking spousal support.

Lopez submitted the divorce papers on the second anniversary of their wedding ceremony in Georgia. Affleck and Lopez first became engaged in 2002 after meeting on the set of their film “Gigli.” They were slated to wed in 2004, but their plans were abruptly canceled. Two decades later, the couple married in a surprise ceremony in Las Vegas.

Rumors of their split began to circulate earlier this year, notably after the pair was not seen together for 47 days. Speculation intensified when Affleck did not attend Lopez’s extravagant “Bridgerton”-themed birthday celebration on July 2.

In the documentary “The Greatest Love Story Never Told,” Affleck candidly addressed the public scrutiny that surrounded their relationship when it first began in the early 2000s.
