Beauty, Talent, and a Mission: Meet Rowena Acraman, Miss Hibiscus Hopeful!

Rowena Acraman, a former journalist passionate about human rights and climate change, is one of ten contestants competing in the upcoming Miss Hibiscus Festival 2024. The 22-year-old student and multi-lingual musical artist is being sponsored by Apco Coatings, a company established in 1977 with operations spanning Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, and Tonga.

Fluent in English, Hindi, and Japanese, Ms. Acraman’s language skills showcase her enthusiasm for learning and cultural exchange. In addition to her studies, she is a talented artist, singer, and musician, adept at playing both the guitar and ukulele, highlighting her appreciation for creativity and self-expression.

Ms. Acraman aims to work for a non-governmental organization that fights for human rights and tackles the urgent issue of climate change, demonstrating her commitment to making a positive difference in the world.

Apco Coatings, based in Lautoka, is also involved in exporting goods to other South Pacific islands, including Samoa. The 68th Hibiscus Festival is set to kick off at Suva Civic Foreshore and Suva Civic Centre from August 31 to September 7. Supported by FMF and Vodafone as gold sponsors, the festival promises a week filled with culture, entertainment, and a celebration of beauty and talent, according to the event’s organizers.
