Nilshika Singh is a remarkable young woman known for her beauty and intelligence. Hailing from Sigatoka, she has achieved numerous personal milestones, including winning beauty pageants and excelling in Taekwondo competitions in both Thailand and Fiji.

Growing up as an only child in a middle-class family, her upbringing provided her with essential experiences that shaped her into the person she is today. “I never felt like anything was missing because my parents gave me everything I ever needed to grow into who I am today,” remarked Ms. Singh, adding, “My only regret is that my mother isn’t here with me to celebrate.”

Her educational journey began at Nadi Sangam School, where she studied from 2004 to 2011, followed by Sangam SKM College from 2012 to 2015. With lofty ambitions from a young age, Ms. Singh aimed to inspire others to believe in themselves. “I am a hardworking and driven individual who isn’t afraid to face challenges,” she stated confidently. “I’m passionate about my work, and I know how to get the job done.”

As a titleholder of several local and international pageants, Ms. Singh has brought global attention to her island nation. Her pageant career began in 2017 in Fiji, where she earned accolades such as first runner-up and charity queen, along with competing in the Miss India Fiji pageant. In 2018, she displayed her elegance at the Sugar Festival in Lautoka, and in 2023, she made a name for herself in Sydney by winning titles including Most Charming and Best Evening Gown at Miss Multicultural Global Australia. She was later crowned Mrs. M Universe Australia and won the illustrious Mrs. M Universe International title in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Winning such titles has instilled a deep appreciation within her. “Winning the title of Mrs. M Universe was an incredible experience filled with excitement, pride, and disbelief,” she reflected. “It’s a significant achievement that validates all the hard work and dedication I had invested in the competition.”

Beyond her beauty queen status, Ms. Singh is also a black belt in Taekwondo, a testament to her strength and commitment to fighting the gender divide in a traditionally male-dominated sport. Recently invited to represent her nation in a Taekwondo competition in Bangkok by Mrs. M Universe (Thailand), she competed for the first time in five years. “I trained with various teams worldwide and had the honor of being the chief guest at the opening ceremony, where I delivered a speech,” she shared.

Looking forward, Ms. Singh aspires to become a head coach in either pageantry or Taekwondo within the next five years. “I envision myself as a head coach, guiding multiple students and empowering them to compete internationally, making our country proud,” she said.

Currently, she serves as a lead educator at Milestones Early Learning Centre in Australia, driven by her passion for nurturing young minds. “I take joy in watching children grow and learn every day as they prepare for the future,” she commented, expressing pride in mentoring childcare trainees.

Her message to young people is to pursue their talents without hesitation and to believe in themselves fiercely while encouraging parents to support their children in exploring their interests. Ms. Singh’s journey, now as a permanent resident of Australia, stands as an inspiring testament for the younger generation, urging them to chase their dreams, as “you will not know your full potential unless you commit and strive for it.”
