The highly anticipated boxing match between Ubayd Haider and Mikaele Ravalaca is scheduled for February 22, 2025. Haider’s manager, Alan Kumar, confirmed the date while in talks with Ravalaca’s Australian manager, Gus Wahab. Kumar plans to relaunch Bula Boxing Promotions next year, with this event as its opening.
“I reached out to Gus Wahab after receiving confirmation from the Boxing Commission of Fiji for February 22, 2025. He is a great person, and our conversation about organizing this fight for the public was very positive,” Kumar stated.
Both parties are eager to make the fight happen, but they are still negotiating the purse. “We have offered around $5000, but he has not agreed to that amount. We are hopeful that by the end of the week, we can reach an agreement and sign the contract soon after,” Kumar added.
As an events manager with Bula Events Group and the promoter for Bula Boxing, Kumar is committed to ensuring the fight takes place under his management. “I am the only person who can make this fight a reality because I manage Ubayd Haider, and he will follow my lead. We are not avoiding anyone; we simply have a schedule of fights planned for this year. We appreciate the public’s patience as Haider prepares for an IBO title fight on October 26 in Nadi against an Australian opponent. This is crucial for us, and we are taking things one step at a time, looking forward to February 22,” he explained.
The boxing event will take place at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
