The anticipated boxing match between Ubayd Haider and Mikaele Ravalaca is set for February 22, 2025. Haider’s manager, Alan Kumar, confirmed that discussions are ongoing with Ravalaca’s Australian manager, Gus Wahab, regarding the upcoming event which will mark the return of Bula Boxing Promotions next year.
Kumar expressed optimism about the match, stating, “After receiving confirmation from the Boxing Commission of Fiji for February 22, 2025, I contacted Mikaele Ravalaca’s manager Gus Wahab. He is a good gentleman; we had a positive discussion about making this fight a reality for the fans.”
While both parties are committed to the fight, negotiations concerning the purse are still underway. Kumar mentioned that they initially offered around $5,000, which has not yet been accepted, but he hopes to finalize an agreement by the end of the week.
As the promoter for Bula Boxing, Kumar insists that the fight can only take place under his management. “I am the one making this fight happen since I manage Ubayd Haider, and he will follow my lead. We have a plan in place, including Haider competing for an IBO title on October 26 in Nadi against an Australian opponent. This fight is important to us, and we are progressing step by step toward the February date.”
The event is scheduled to take place at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
