Tickets are officially on sale for the eagerly awaited “Battle of Fiji,” a historic preseason match between the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua and the Skipper XV Select, scheduled to take place on February 6 at Churchill Park in Lautoka. This exciting event will be contested for the Sun Bell Trophy and is an important part of the Drua’s preparation for the 2026 Shop N Save Supermarket Super Rugby Pacific season.

The Skipper XV Select team will feature the finest local talent from Fiji’s premier provincial competition, the Skipper Cup. This innovative matchup was first proposed by Drua head coach Glen Jackson during the Fiji Rugby Symposium held in August last year and has since been embraced by Fiji Rugby and the provincial unions, paving the way for a thrilling encounter between professional and provincial stars.

Kick-off for the match is scheduled for 4:00 PM, and to encourage a strong turnout, ticket prices have been set affordably. Fans can purchase grass embankment tickets for just $5, while Timber, Southwest, and Waitui Stand tickets are available for $10 each. For those looking for premium seating, a limited number of Platinum Stand tickets can be acquired for $15.

In a fantastic added incentive for supporters, the Drua is offering an exclusive two-for-one deal. Fans who buy tickets for the Drua’s Super Rugby Pacific season opener against Moana Pasifika on February 14 at Churchill Park will receive a complimentary ticket of the same category for the Battle of Fiji.

Shane Hussein, General Manager Commercial for the Drua, mentioned that the interest surrounding the match has been exceptional. He expressed, “The interest in the Battle of Fiji is really high, so we’ve made ticket prices as affordable as we could. It’s a Fiji rugby fan’s dream, the chance to see their favourite Drua and provincial players bring intensity, flair, and excitement to Lautoka on February 6.” He also highlighted that the two-for-one offer provides fantastic value for fans.

Drua co-captain Temo Mayanavanua anticipates a fierce battle against a motivated Skipper XV Select team. He commented, “I’ve heard they’ve been preparing really well, and I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a hell of a clash. They’re young, ambitious, and talented players, and my message to the people is to come and see massive hits, fancy offloads, and Fijian flair at its best in Lautoka.”

As the Battle of Fiji approaches, it is shaping up to be a remarkable display of local talent and a celebration of Fiji’s rugby capabilities, promising fans two thrilling weekends of rugby at Churchill Park.
