Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School will compete against Ratu Kadavulevu School in the final of the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union Vodafone Super Deans under-14 tournament. RKS secured their spot in the final by defeating the 2023 champions, Marist Brothers High School, with a score of 13-0. MGM also advanced to the final after a strong performance in the second semi-final, overpowering Lelean Memorial School 31-10.
This match will determine a new champion in the U14 category next weekend. MGM team manager Miriama Lutubulo expressed the significance of the win, noting that they are the only team from the school remaining in the competition. She mentioned that the loss of the U18 team served as motivation for the U14 players, encouraging them to strive for success since they are the only MGM representatives in both the Deans and Raluve competitions.
As they prepare for the finals, the MGM team will face strong competition from Eastern Zone leaders RKS. Lutubulo acknowledged RKS’s reputation and emphasized that her team is equally committed to thorough preparation. During their recent match, the U14 MGM team received enthusiastic support from family, friends, and fans, who rallied behind them in bright orange attire.
