Ba secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Labasa in Round 17 of the Digicel Fiji Premier League at the Fiji FA Academy Ground in Namosau. The Babasiga Lions needed the win to maintain their slim hopes of claiming the championship title.
Veteran striker Christopher Wasasala opened the scoring for the visitors in the 18th minute. Ba equalized with a goal from Etonia Dogalau, who headed the ball into the roof of the net in the 37th minute. The teams were level at halftime.
The second half was competitive, but the Men in Black clinched the win with a late goal from Faazil Ali. Ba remains in fourth place with 28 points, tied with third-placed Lautoka on points but trailing on goal difference. Labasa holds on to second place with 32 points.
