Ba secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Labasa in Round 17 of the Digicel Fiji Premier League at the Fiji FA Academy Ground in Namosau. The Babasiga Lions needed this win to maintain their slim hopes of claiming the title.
Seasoned striker Christopher Wasasala opened the scoring for Labasa in the 18th minute. Ba responded with an equalizer from Etonia Dogalau, whose header found the net in the 37th minute, leaving the teams tied at halftime.
The second half was intensely competitive, but Ba clinched the win with a late goal from Faazil Ali. Rooster Chicken Ba remains in fourth place with 28 points, now level on points with third-placed Lautoka but trailing due to goal difference. Extra Supermarket Labasa stays in second place with 32 points.
