Ba’s 4R FC Aims High as NCC 2025 West Zonal Kicks Off

Football club 4R FC from Ba is gearing up for an exciting campaign in the Dayal’s Sawmillers National Club Championship (NCC) 2025 West Zonal competition, which begins tomorrow at the Fiji FA Academy grounds in Ba. Renowned for its passionate local following, 4R FC aims to make a significant impact in the event, showcasing their talent in a challenging round-robin format alongside three other teams: Lautoka’s Ray United, Nadi’s Army, and Nadroga’s Downtown.

Club president Rashnel Kumar expressed optimism about their preparations, noting that the team has managed to efficiently regroup despite a tight schedule. “We have some of our players who just returned on Monday from the Pacific Cup in New Zealand. The addition of four Ba district players, along with experienced veterans like Malakai Tiwa and Ronil Kumar, and our foreign signings—four players from Nigeria and one from the Solomon Islands—will definitely enhance our performance this week,” Kumar stated.

Although the team will be without their head coach Kiniviliame Naika, who is currently out of the country, veterans Tiwa and Kumar will step into player-coach roles, providing leadership on the field. 4R FC will kick off their tournament against Downtown from Sigatoka tomorrow at 3 PM.

In addition to the Western Division matchups, the Northern Division will feature a pivotal clash on Saturday, as defending champions Northpole from Labasa take on Taveuni’s Legends in a playoff at Bocalevu Primary School to determine the North’s sole representative in the finals. The Southern Division will see six clubs divided into two groups, with teams like Friends United FC and Lami Rangers FC competing for a chance to advance.

The excitement surrounding the NCC reflects the growing passion for football in Fiji, and fans are eagerly anticipating the performances of their local clubs. With a blend of seasoned players and fresh talent, 4R FC is well-positioned to make a strong showing in the competition, embodying the spirit of their football-mad town.
