Three men accused of defrauding over $140,000 from the Bank South Pacific have confirmed they have received full disclosures related to their case. Alexander Fong, Hirdesh Chand, and Ifran Hussein are facing charges for obtaining financial advantage through deception.
Fong, a former senior manager at BSP, is alleged to have collaborated with Chand and Hussein to defraud the bank by privately selling eight vehicles without adhering to proper procedures between December 8, 2018, and December 21, 2022.
The trial for the trio has been scheduled to take place from August 5 to 14 next year. The proceedings were held on September 3 before Magistrate Yogesh Prasad at the Suva Magistrate’s Court. The three men are set to return for the pretrial conference on November 28.
