Three individuals accused of defrauding over $140,000 from the Bank South Pacific have confirmed that they have received all necessary disclosures. Alexander Fong, Hirdesh Chand, and Ifran Hussein face charges of obtaining financial advantage through deceptive practices.
Fong, a former senior manager at BSP, is alleged to have collaborated with Chand and Hussein in a scheme that involved the private sale of eight vehicles, bypassing proper procedures between December 8, 2018, and December 21, 2022.
The trial for the three has been scheduled to begin from August 5 to 14 next year. This case was discussed in the Suva Magistrate’s Court on September 3, presided over by Magistrate Yogesh Prasad. The defendants are set to return for the pretrial conference on November 28.
