KONTIKI Finance has enhanced the upcoming Banana Cup tournament with a generous sponsorship of $2,000, officially presented by marketing manager Joni Moce at the Suva Bowling Club yesterday. This commitment follows their previous successful sponsorship of the Pineapple Cup in September, underscoring their dedication to promoting local sports.
The Banana Cup, which has a rich history spanning over 60 years as a national event, is anticipated to attract 20 to 30 participants. This includes emerging talents under the age of 20 as well as seasoned national representatives. Event coordinator Litia Tikoisuva expressed her enthusiasm about the tournament, stating, “We are looking forward to a good weekend, and may the best team win.” She noted that the tournament’s unpredictability adds excitement, as even experienced players can be challenged by new contenders.
Moce encouraged families and community members to attend the tournament this weekend, emphasizing that bowling involves both strategy and precision. She reassured attendees that there would be plenty of entertainment, food, and beverages to enjoy. “It’s a beautiful sport because it’s not only about rolling the ball, but about strategy and precision as well. So, I want to urge all the family and friends to come down this weekend to check out the competition,” Moce stated.
As anticipation grows, Kontiki Finance and the organizers eagerly look forward to uniting the community for a memorable event. The Banana Cup competition is scheduled to take place this Saturday at the Suva Bowling Club starting at 9 a.m.
This tournament not only showcases local talent but also reinforces community bonds through shared experiences in sports and entertainment. It offers a chance for everyone to come together, cheer for their favorites, and enjoy a weekend filled with fun activities.
