KONTIKI Finance has provided a significant lift to the upcoming Banana Cup tournament by sponsoring the event with $2,000, a contribution made by marketing manager Joni Moce at the Suva Bowling Club yesterday. This recent sponsorship follows Kontiki’s successful backing of the Pineapple Cup in September, underscoring their commitment to promoting local sports.

The Banana Cup, a national tournament that has been a tradition for over 60 years, is anticipated to host between 20 to 30 players, including young talents under the age of 20 and representatives from the national team. Event coordinator Litia Tikoisuva expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming competition, stating, “We are looking forward to a good weekend, and may the best team win!” She highlighted the tournament’s capacity to surprise, noting that experienced bowlers can be challenged by newcomers.

Joni Moce also encouraged local families and community members to attend the event this weekend. She emphasized that the sport is not just about rolling the ball; it involves strategy and precision, which promises to create an engaging atmosphere filled with entertainment, food, and drinks. “It’s a beautiful sport because it’s not only about rolling the ball but about strategy and precision as well. So, I want to urge all the family and friends to come down this weekend to check out the competition,” Moce stated.

As anticipation builds for this event, both Kontiki Finance and the tournament organizers are excited to foster community spirit and create another successful gathering. The Banana Cup is set to commence this Saturday at the Suva Bowling Club, starting at 9 a.m.

This event not only represents a celebration of sport but also fosters community connections and encourages participation among people of all ages. With the support of sponsors like Kontiki Finance, local events can thrive, inspiring future generations of athletes.
