Five members of the “Bali Nine,” who were part of an Australian drug trafficking ring, have returned to Australia after successful diplomatic negotiations between the Indonesian and Australian governments. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese confirmed the repatriation, stating that the individuals—Matthew Norman, Scott Rush, Martin Stephens, Si Yi Chen, and Michael Czugaj—have completed over 19 years in prison in Indonesia for attempting to smuggle more than 8 kg of heroin from Bali in 2005.
