Kitione Baleloa, the recipient of the Golden Glove award at the Futsal IDC, has been added to Labasa’s roster for the upcoming Pacific Community Cup. Baleloa, who is a goalkeeper for the Futsal champions Suva and hails from Tailevu Naitasiri, is stepping in as a guest player to support experienced goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau.
Labasa’s coach, Ravneel Pratap, explained the necessity of bringing Baleloa on board, as the team’s other goalkeepers are unavailable. Jitoko Vulava is occupied with work commitments and attending a training course with the Fiji Police Force, while Joji Vuakaca is sidelined due to injury. Coach Pratap expressed confidence in Baleloa’s abilities, stating, “Kitione is in good shape and has agreed to join us. We are happy to have him on board.”
Additionally, Asaeli Tunidau and Sakiusa Saqiri from Tailevu Naitasiri are also joining the Babasiga Lions for the tournament. Labasa is set to kick off their campaign against the USA All Stars at 4:30 PM today.
This strategic recruitment of talent highlights Labasa’s commitment to strengthening their team, ensuring they are competitive in the Pacific Community Cup. The addition of Baleloa is promising, as it offers the team a blend of youthful energy and goalkeeping prowess, paving the way for an exciting tournament ahead.
As the team prepares to face the USA All Stars, there is a hopeful anticipation of strong performances and collective resilience from the players. Fans will be eager to see how this dynamic lineup unfolds on the field.
