Sitiveni Koroituku from Balata College is gearing up to make a significant impact at the upcoming Coca-Cola Games, expressing his determination to secure gold after winning a bronze medal in the intermediate boys’ high jump last year. Now competing in the senior boys’ division, Koroituku’s preparation combines rigorous training with a deep faith in God, which he credits as a crucial part of his journey.

“I’m always training and working on my own, trying to be better from the last competition. After high school, I want to continue with my athletic career and end up in a better place to support my family,” he shared, highlighting his aspirations beyond athletics.

The Coca-Cola Games, set to take place this weekend, promises to showcase not only Koroituku’s talents but also the competitive spirit of many athletes who have been preparing diligently. The event is expected to foster camaraderie and community pride among participating schools, akin to the experiences of other athletes like Waisiki Komainaiqoro from YAT Sen Secondary School and Jale Raikatalau from Ratu Kadavulevu School, both of whom have similarly expressed high hopes for medal success.

As the event draws closer, viewers can watch live performances on FBC Sports, creating a platform for the athletes to shine and inspire others through their dedication and hard work. Koroituku’s journey, coupled with the collective aspirations of numerous young athletes, reflects a promising future for sports in Fiji and instills hope in the community for a culture rich in resilience and excellence.
