Josese Cagica, who hails from a family that cherishes food, has turned his passion into a career by acquiring a culinary qualification and launching his own bakery. During the recent Miss Hibiscus Festival, Mr. Cagica seized the opportunity to hire young people from Nadera, enabling them to earn a fair income. He described his experience at the festival as a unique one, despite the hurdles he faces in building his brand.

“Participating in the Miss Hibiscus Festival presents a unique opportunity for me, especially as I introduce new pastries that could become very popular in town,” he stated.

Mr. Cagica believes that events like the Hibiscus Festival allow entrepreneurs to better their representation and improve their standing in the market. In addition to growing his brand, ‘The Cake Lab,’ he is dedicated to providing job opportunities for local youth.

Inspired by the festival’s spirit, Mr. Cagica is committed to giving back to the community, aspiring to enhance his own living standards as well as those of the young people he works with. He credits the unwavering support from his parents, family, and friends for his ongoing success.

Currently, he is receiving orders not just locally but also from Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and Africa. Despite the challenges, Mr. Cagica sees this phase of his journey as a blessing rather than a burden.
