Meli Bainimarama, the son of former Fijian Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama, has been sentenced to 28 months in prison following a violent incident involving an ex-girlfriend in Sydney. The attack resulted in severe injuries, including a ruptured eardrum.
Magistrate Timothy Khoo imposed the sentence, which includes a non-parole period of 14 months. Bainimarama faced multiple charges, including three counts of assault causing bodily harm, two counts of choking without consent, and one count of stalking.
