In a recent incident, a 46-year-old farmer from Vivili Village, Savusavu, lost his life when a vehicle veered onto the wrong side of the road and struck him as he walked along Naidi, Buca Bay Road. The unfortunate accident occurred just a day before the school year begins, highlighting the importance of road safety awareness as thousands of children return to class.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mitieli Divuana emphasized the need for drivers to be particularly cautious during peak travel times, as local roadways can expect significant congestion in the mornings and afternoons with school traffic.
