Baby Pearls Kikau triumphed over the Nadroga Stallions in round five of the Finance Hub Super League competition, securing a dominant 55-32 victory.
Team manager Lusiana Rakavono commended the players for their strong performance, recognizing the Nadroga team for their challenging opposition until the end of the match.
“We still have room for improvement, but Nadroga gave us a good game, and we managed to pull through,” said Rakavono.
“Despite not having matches the previous week, the girls stayed focused on their regular training, which significantly contributed to our success against Nadroga.”
Rakavono identified areas for enhancement, particularly in improving their court combinations and ball transitions from center court to finishing plays.
“These elements will be a major focus in our upcoming training sessions to elevate our overall game in future matches.”
Following their victory, the team will take a well-deserved break before preparing for the Rising Stars tournament, scheduled for August 19-23 at the Vodafone Arena.
“This international competition offers an exciting opportunity for the girls to showcase their talents and potentially secure a spot in the 15-squad for the upcoming qualifiers.”
