The Baby Pearls Kikau triumphed over the Nadroga Stallions in round five of the Finance Hub Super League, marking their superiority with a decisive 55-32 score.
Team manager Lusiana Rakavono commended the players for their solid performance while also acknowledging the Nadroga team’s resilience, which provided a tough challenge until the end.
“We have room to improve, and Nadroga gave us a good match, but we managed to pull through,” said Rakavono.
Despite having a week without matches, the players remained focused on their regular training routine, which proved beneficial for their successful outcome against Nadroga.
Rakavono emphasized the need for improvement, especially in enhancing court combinations and ball transitions from center court to finishing plays.
“These elements will be a key focus during our upcoming training sessions to elevate our overall game play in future matches,” she added.
Following their victory, the team will enjoy a well-deserved break before preparing for the Rising Stars tournament scheduled for August 19-23 at the Vodafone Arena.
“This international competition presents an exciting opportunity for the girls to showcase their talents and potentially secure a spot in the 15-squad for the upcoming qualifiers,” Rakavono noted.
