Baby Jack’s, a well-known children’s retail chain, has inaugurated its fourth store in Fiji, marking an important step in its growth strategy. This new location is situated within the Damodar complex in Suva.
The expansion follows the chain’s first store opening in Suva on Renwick Road in 2016, and includes the Lautoka store that was launched in 2021, as well as their flagship store in Nadi which opened in 2023.
Rayna Chandra, Senior Marketing Officer at Jack’s of Fiji, noted that the tremendous response to the initial Suva store led to increased demand from Central customers for additional locations. This prompted the planning of a new Baby Jack’s store in the greater Suva area, which has now come to fruition in the Damodar complex.
Chandra highlighted that the Damodar complex attracts thousands of visitors daily, and they believe this new store will enhance the business environment and atmosphere of the complex. Baby Jack’s offers a variety of in-house brands including Katchi Kid’s, Crazy Jack’s, Firstribe, and Jackie K, as well as international brands like Ryco, Bright Starts, and Avent. The store stocks a range of products, from stylish and affordable children’s clothing to feeding essentials, and various home items such as strollers and cots, alongside a vast collection of educational and recreational toys.
Akash Narsey, Group Marketing Manager at Jack’s of Fiji, commented on the concept of integrating Baby Jack’s within the Damodar store, aiming to create a comprehensive shopping experience for parents and kids. He emphasized the unique market position of this brand in the country and underscored their commitment to customers.
Narsey also mentioned the economic benefits brought by the store’s expansion, with an investment of approximately half a million dollars to enhance the Damodar store and create up to 10 new job opportunities. He assured that Jack’s of Fiji will persist in investing in the local economy and launching new stores soon.
Losana Lewanibeto, a devoted employee who began her role last year, shared her experience reflecting the growth of the Baby Jack’s department. Originally working in the ladies’ department, she remained with the team as they transitioned to the larger space, now offering a broader selection of products that customers appreciate.
Lewanibeto expressed pride in the positive interactions with shoppers, noting that many customers come in knowing precisely what they want, and often enjoy shopping with their children. She also appreciates the support from her colleagues, citing her role as a single mother and the understanding and encouragement she has received from her managers and team members.
