Baby Jack’s Expands in Fiji: What’s in Store?

Baby Jack’s, a well-known children’s retail chain, has launched its fourth store in Fiji, marking a notable step in its growth. The new store is situated within the Damodar complex in Suva. This addition brings the total number of Baby Jack’s locations to four, starting with its inaugural store on Renwick Road in Suva in 2016. The Lautoka store opened in 2021, followed by the flagship outlet in Nadi earlier this year.

Rayna Chandra, Senior Marketing Officer at Jack’s of Fiji, noted the initial success of the first Baby Jack’s store, which received enthusiastic reviews after its opening in mid-August 2016. She mentioned that there was significant demand from central customers for additional stores to meet their needs, leading to the planning of this new location within the Damodar Store.

According to Chandra, the Damodar complex attracts thousands of visitors daily, and they believe that the new store will enhance the complex’s atmosphere while improving business prospects. Baby Jack’s offers a variety of in-house brands such as Katchi Kid’s, Crazy Jack’s, Firstribe, and Jackie K, in addition to international brands like Ryco, Bright Starts, and Avent. The store provides a range of products, including stylish and affordable clothing, feeding essentials, and an extensive selection of educational and recreational toys.

Jack’s of Fiji’s Group Marketing Manager, Akash Narsey, expressed that the integration of Baby Jack’s within the Damodar store aims to create a comprehensive shopping destination for parents and children. He emphasized that the expansion of Baby Jack’s is a unique offering in the market that competitors cannot replicate. The total investment for the new space was around half a million, which has allowed for the hiring of up to ten additional staff members. Narsey highlighted the company’s commitment to investing in the local economy and hinted at future store openings.

Losana Lewanibeto, an employee who started her journey in the Baby Jack’s department, shared her experience in the evolving retail space. Beginning her career in the ladies’ department, she witnessed the growth of the Baby Jack’s section and acknowledged the increased variety of products available, which customers appreciate. She takes pride in building positive relationships with customers and enjoys working alongside a supportive team.

As a single mother, Lewanibeto expressed gratitude for the flexibility and understanding from her colleagues and management, which helps balance her work and family life.
