Baby Jack’s, a well-known children’s retail chain, has opened its fourth location in Fiji, signifying an important step in its growth. The new store is situated in the Damodar complex in Suva.
This addition follows the establishment of the first Baby Jack’s store, which opened in Suva in 2016 on Renwick Road. The Lautoka branch was launched in 2021, and the flagship store in Nadi opened earlier this year in 2023.
Rayna Chandra, Senior Marketing Officer at Jack’s of Fiji, noted that the initial opening of Baby Jack’s in Suva in August 2016 received positive feedback, leading to high demand for more stores in the Central region. This prompted the planning of a new store within the Damodar complex.
Chandra emphasized that the Damodar complex attracts thousands of visitors daily, and the new store is expected to enhance the business environment while providing a lively atmosphere.
Baby Jack’s offers a range of in-house brands, including Katchi Kid’s, Crazy Jack’s, Firstribe, and Jackie K, along with international brands such as Ryco and Avent. The store is not only focused on clothing but also offers feeding essentials, home items like strollers and cots, along with a broad selection of educational and recreational toys.
Group Marketing Manager Akash Narsey shared that adding a Baby Jack’s section within the existing Damodar store was aimed at creating a convenient one-stop shop for parents and children. He highlighted the unique position Baby Jack’s holds in the market, which distinguishes it from competitors.
Narsey also mentioned that the expansion of the Baby Jack’s store has led to the creation of additional job opportunities, with an investment of around half a million dollars to accommodate up to 10 new staff members. He confirmed that Jack’s of Fiji is committed to further investments in the local economy, promising the opening of more stores soon.
Losana Lewanibeto, who joined as an employee last year, expressed her pride in being part of the Baby Jack’s growth story. She noted the transition from a smaller department with limited stock to a more expansive selection that customers now appreciate.
Lewanibeto emphasized the positive relationships she has developed with customers and her colleagues, stating that as a single mother, the job offers the flexibility she needs, along with support from her team and managers.
