Baby Jack’s Expands in Fiji: A New Store Opens in Suva!

Baby Jack’s, the well-known children’s retail chain, has inaugurated its fourth store in Fiji, representing a major step in its growth strategy. The new store is situated within the Damodar complex in Suva.

This expansion builds on the existing Baby Jack’s locations, which began with the first store in Suva on Renwick Road in 2016. Lautoka followed with its Baby Jack’s store in 2021, and the flagship store opened in Nadi earlier this year.

Rayna Chandra, Senior Marketing Officer for Jack’s of Fiji, commented that the opening of the original Baby Jack’s store in Suva in mid-August 2016 received enthusiastic feedback, creating demand for more locations to serve Central customers. This demand led to the new store’s development in the greater Suva area.

Chandra noted, “The Damodar complex welcomes thousands of visitors each day, and we believe that this new store will not only enhance our business prospects but also energize the complex’s atmosphere.”

Baby Jack’s offers a variety of in-house brands like Katchi Kid’s, Crazy Jack’s, Firstribe, and Jackie K, as well as popular international brands such as Ryco, Bright Starts, and Avent. The store features a range of products, including stylish and affordable children’s clothing, feeding essentials, and home items like strollers, cots, and baby walkers, along with a diverse selection of educational and recreational toys.

Jack’s of Fiji Group Marketing Manager, Akash Narsey, shared insights on the new store, stating that the goal behind integrating a Baby Jack’s area into the Damodar store was to establish a comprehensive one-stop shopping experience for parents and children. He emphasized that this concept occupies a unique market position that sets them apart from competitors.

Narsey mentioned that the expansion reflects the company’s commitment to the local economy, as it has resulted in new employment opportunities. Approximately half a million dollars was invested in expanding the existing Damodar store to accommodate Baby Jack’s, which has allowed for the hiring of up to ten additional staff members. He assured that Jack’s of Fiji will persist in investing in the economy, with plans for more store openings in the near future.

Losana Lewanibeto, a committed employee since last year, highlighted her personal experience with the growth of the Baby Jack’s department. She noted that the new space has greatly expanded the product range, which customers have responded to positively. Lewanibeto expressed pride in her interactions with customers and the support she receives from her colleagues, appreciating how her job fits well into her life as a single mother.
