Baby Jack’s, a well-known children’s retail chain, has inaugurated its fourth store in Fiji, marking an important step in its growth. The new outlet is situated within the Damodar complex in Suva. This latest addition complements the existing Baby Jack’s stores, which started with the first location in Suva on Renwick Road in 2016, followed by a store in Lautoka in 2021, and the flagship store in Nadi that opened in 2023.

Rayna Chandra, Senior Marketing Officer for Jack’s of Fiji, mentioned that the original Baby Jack’s store received enthusiastic feedback when it opened in August 2016, prompting the company to consider expanding further in the greater Suva area. The new store at the Damodar complex is a result of that planning.

Chandra highlighted that the Damodar complex attracts thousands of visitors daily, making it an ideal location for the new store, which is expected to enhance the complex’s atmosphere and business environment. Baby Jack’s offers a variety of in-house brands, including Katchi Kid’s, Crazy Jack’s, Firstribe, and Jackie K, as well as international brands like Ryco, Bright Starts, and Avent. The store provides not only stylish and affordable children’s clothing but also essential items such as strollers, cots, and baby walkers, along with a broad selection of educational and recreational toys.

Jack’s of Fiji Group Marketing Manager Akash Narsey expressed that the strategy behind integrating a Baby Jack’s space within the Damodar store was to create a convenient one-stop shop for families. He noted that the expansion signifies the brand’s commitment to its customers and the local economy, highlighting that the new Baby Jack’s store has generated additional employment opportunities. An investment of approximately half a million dollars was allocated for the expansion, resulting in the hiring of up to 10 new staff members. Narsey reiterated Jack’s of Fiji’s commitment to ongoing investments in the economy and the opening of more stores in the near future.

Losana Lewanibeto, an employee who joined last year, shared her positive experience tied to the growth of the Baby Jack’s department. Having moved from a smaller department with limited stock to a larger space, she observed that customers have responded favorably to the broader selection. She emphasized her pride in the positive rapport she builds with customers and their children, and expressed gratitude for the support she receives at work as a single mother.
