Ba Women’s Football Club, under the leadership of coach Charlene Lockington, is preparing to make a mark in the 2025 OFC Women’s Champions League, set to take place in Tahiti in May. The tournament promises to showcase some of the best women’s club teams from the Oceania region, competing for both the prestigious title and a chance to qualify for the inaugural FIFA Women’s Champions Cup, further opening doors to the 2028 FIFA Women’s Club World Cup.

Drawing into Group A, Ba will face tough competitors including Henderson Eels FC from the Solomon Islands, Penama Tigers FC from Vanuatu, and Tupapa Maraerenga FC from the Cook Islands. Coach Lockington expressed her optimism about the team’s readiness, citing strong performances in preparation matches, including a recent victory against Suva that has bolstered their confidence.

Significantly, the team will feature four U16 players, reinforcing the future of women’s football in Fiji. This inclusion signifies a commitment to developing young talent and ensuring a lasting impact on the sport in the region.
