Defending champions Ba Women FC kicked off their Fiji FA Women’s Inter-District Championship campaign in spectacular fashion, securing a resounding 7-0 victory over Rewa in their opening match in Suva this afternoon.

Ba set the tone early, establishing a commanding lead by halftime with a score of 4-0, showcasing their dominance throughout the first half. Cema Nasau initiated the scoring in the ninth minute, followed by Asela Cokanisiga who extended the lead in the 23rd minute. Just three minutes later, Aliza Hussein added another goal, and Sisilia Kuladina rounded off the first-half assault with a strike in the 31st minute.

The second half saw Ba maintain their momentum, with Cokanisiga finding the back of the net again to complete her brace. Elesi Tabunase also contributed to the scoreline, while Rewa faced further difficulties when Naomi Waqanidrola inadvertently scored an own goal.

Looking ahead, Ba will face the hosts, Suva, at 11 am tomorrow, while Rewa will play against Labasa at 1 pm at the Fiji FA headquarters in Vatuwaqa. This impressive victory serves as a strong statement from Ba, reaffirming their status as title holders and setting a high standard for the tournament ahead.
