Ba secured a narrow 2-1 victory over Labasa in Round 17 of the Digicel Fiji Premier League at the Fiji FA Academy Ground in Namosau today. The Babasiga Lions were in desperate need of a win to maintain their slim title hopes.

Experienced striker Christopher Wasasala put Labasa ahead in the 18th minute. However, Ba equalized with a header from Etonia Dogalau in the 37th minute, which found the net’s top corner. The teams went into halftime tied.

The second half proved to be fiercely contested, but the Men in Black clinched the win with a late goal from Faazil Ali. Ba, now with 28 points, remains in fourth place, level on points with third-placed Lautoka but behind on goal difference. Labasa holds onto second place with 32 points.
