The Ba Rugby Union successfully wrapped up its level two coaching course in Ba yesterday. Approximately 11 participants took part, comprising eight coaches from various tikina and three women.

The primary objective of the course is to elevate coaching standards across all tikina, with plans to ensure that every tikina coach achieves level two certification by next year.

Pastor Gabby Kautoga, secretary of the Ba Rugby Union, emphasized the significance of this initiative. “This is part of our club pathway towards the tikina right to the provincial level. The course serves as a stepping stone for coaches to advance within the rugby development framework and prepare their teams for more competitive challenges,” Kautoga stated.

The Tiliva and Bukuya girls’ teams volunteered to assist with the practical evaluations during the course, giving coaches a chance to be assessed and monitored. Kautoga mentioned that ongoing assessments would continue, and by December, the coaches are expected to receive their certificates.

“We hope to honor them during our awards night in December,” he added.

This initiative underscores the Ba Rugby Union’s dedication to establishing a robust coaching foundation to nurture the region’s burgeoning rugby talent.
