Ba Rugby Finds Hope in Youth After Skipper Cup Quarter-Final Exit

Ba Rugby head coach Ben Tora experienced a mix of emotions as he reviewed his team’s journey in the Skipper Cup, particularly after their quarter-final defeat to Naitasiri at Lawaqa Park last Saturday. Despite the setback, Tora conveyed a message filled with hope and optimism for the future.

“Loss is the beginning of better things in the future,” he said, expressing pride in his young team’s performance throughout the season. Tora highlighted the contributions of several debutants, emphasizing that his squad featured five newcomers in every match. “Most of our players are new, but they played with heart and passion. That’s something we can build on,” he noted.

He also expressed gratitude towards the supporters who rallied behind the team, thanking sponsors such as Vinod Patel, Ba Industries Ltd, and Island Pharmacy, along with the local communities from the eight districts they represent. Tora believes this young squad’s potential is significant and indicated that they would learn from their experiences against formidable opponents like Naitasiri.

“This is only the beginning of better things for Ba Rugby,” he stated, reiterating the valuable lessons learned from the competition. As Ba Rugby looks ahead, their focus is on growth and improvement, which continues to inspire hope among fans and the community.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Pine Ba U20 team is gearing up for their upcoming semi-final match against Nadi U20, another expression of the vibrant rugby culture and competitive spirit present in the region. The emerging talents in the ranks of Ba Rugby signify a promising future, as the community remains united in their support, ready to rally around their teams in the challenges ahead.
