BA Rugby Union demonstrated their supremacy at the 2025 Nadi Junior Rugby Festival, successfully wrapping up a vibrant two-day event held at Prince Charles Park in Nadi on Wednesday. This festival, backed by Oceania Rugby, World Rugby, and the Fiji Rugby Union, attracted hundreds of youthful athletes eager to showcase their talent, determination, and burgeoning love for the sport of rugby.
The teams from Ba proved to be a cut above the competition, making it to nearly all the major finals. Their winning streak commenced with both Ba U12 teams securing victories in their cup finals. The U12 girls delivered an impressive performance, decisively defeating Jetset 24-0 in a match that highlighted their formidable defense and swift play.
The Ba U18 girls added to the team’s success with an emphatic 24-0 win over Nawaka in the Plate final. Ba’s excellence was further evident in the U16 boys grade final, while Vuda Green clinched the title in the girls’ division and also triumphed in the U18 girls’ category. Nawaka captured the title in the U18 boys championship, showcasing their talent and resilience.
In other noteworthy results, Votualevu Girls U10 narrowly defeated Nauru 1-0 to secure the Tag Cup final, while Saunaka displayed dominance in the boys’ U10 division, winning 2-0 against Jetset. Saunaka also triumphed in the U8 mixed Tag Cup final, edging past Jetset with a score of 1-0.
The festival not only highlighted the sporting prowess of young athletes but also emphasized the growing engagement with rugby, fostering both competitive spirit and camaraderie among participants.
