The 2025 Ba Rugby Club Games kicked off last Saturday at Vinod Patel Park, delivering an exhilarating start to the tournament with the opening rounds of the Inox Trophy and the Vinod Patel Cup.

In the Inox Trophy, Services Ba narrowly edged out Green & Gold with a close score of 13-10 in what was a fiercely contested match. Other notable results in Pool C included Koro, Koroboya, and Vatutavui each securing victories via walkover against Nakusarau, Nadrugu, and Bukuya, respectively.

Pool D saw an outstanding performance from Buyabuya, who defeated Black Sand decisively with a score of 8-0, while Natunuku received a walkover against Nanoko. The highlight match of the round occurred as Vunavuga displayed remarkable tenacity, snatching a last-minute victory over Tabuquto with a scoreline of 15-14, adding to the day’s excitement.

In Pool E, Drala won by walkover against Yakete, and Nasivikoso demonstrated their strength by defeating Natutu Brothers with a solid score of 15-0. Adding to the action, Rarawai FSC also achieved a walkover against Western Saints, bringing an exhilarating day of rugby to a close.

The Vinod Patel Cup mirrored this excitement with Natalecake securing a convincing 21-12 win over Koronubu, while Nadelei showed dominance, achieving a 24-3 victory over Nasolo. Navala also registered a victory via walkover against Camanivanua LBD, and Balevuto claimed a narrow 8-3 win over Sasa, highlighting the competitive spirit of the tournament.

In Pool B, Vadravadra outshined Ba River with a score of 21-10, and Tabalei managed a close 14-8 victory over Lomavata. Nailaga delivered an impressive performance, easily defeating Sorokoba 25-6, while Duiyasana overcame Toge with a score of 17-6, fortifying their standings as Round 1 concluded.
