A flood warning has been issued for areas near and downstream of the Ba River, as rainfall in the Western Division has reached significant levels. According to the Nadi weather office, the past 24 hours have seen rainfall totals between 68.5mm to 99mm, recorded up to 5 AM today.
Water levels at the Ba Sugar Factory, measured at 5 AM, were noted at 3.5m, which is at the warning threshold and is continuing to rise. Additionally, residents should be mindful of the high tide expected at 7:32 AM today, which could exacerbate flooding conditions.
