Rugby enthusiasts in Ba are in for an exciting treat as the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will hold its first-ever open training session at Four R Stadium next week. Scheduled for Tuesday from 12pm to 1pm, this event will allow fans to witness firsthand the intensity and strategic preparation that goes into a Super Rugby training session as the team gears up for their upcoming match against the Brumbies.

The training event is not just about sports; it’s also a meaningful way for the Drua to connect with the local community. Shane Hussein, the Drua’s General Manager Commercial, highlighted the significance of this initiative, stating that it offers a perfect opportunity for students and fans to enjoy a glimpse of the training and meet the players afterward. Following the session, fans will have a dedicated 30 minutes to interact with the players, take photos, and engage with the squad, building excitement ahead of the game.

The upcoming match against the Brumbies on March 14 at 3.30pm will be historic for Ba, marking the first international rugby game to be held in the town. It will also be the inaugural face-off between the Drua and the Brumbies in Ba, and importantly, the first match from Four R Stadium to be broadcast globally to Super Rugby audiences.

The match day promises to be vibrant, with the signature electric atmosphere that the Drua is renowned for, featuring entertainment, giveaways, food stalls, music, and a Pepsi halftime show that’s sure to engage all spectators.

With local heroes Isoa Tuwai, Joji Nasova, and Epeli Momo set to play in front of their hometown crowd, the open training session provides fans with a unique opportunity to engage with their heroes and is a precursor to what promises to be a remarkable rugby weekend for Ba.
