Ba Golf Club Weekend Sparks Community Spirit with Ambrose and Diwali Open

Golfers from across the Western Division and beyond are preparing for an exhilarating weekend at the FSC Ba Golf Club, where two major tournaments are set to take place. This event is especially meaningful, as it is sponsored by Anita Persaud and Tiffany in honor of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gopal, who have been staunch supporters of golf in the Ba community.

Kicking off the weekend will be the 2-Men Ambrose Tournament on Saturday, featuring a team entry fee of $50, which includes an afternoon social for participants. Registration starts at 1 PM, with tee-off scheduled for 1:30 PM. The competition format requires each pair to utilize six compulsory tee shots, adding a strategic element to the game. Prizes will be awarded to the top ten teams, alongside novelty prizes, ensuring plenty of incentives for golfers to participate.

On Sunday, the excitement continues with the Diwali Open, an event that merges the celebration of the festival of lights with sporting spirit. Entry for this tournament is set at $30 per player, covering lunch and an afternoon social. Registration will begin at 10 AM, with tee-off at 10:30 AM. Participants can look forward to prizes awarded for various grades, individual performances, and novelty categories under the Individual Stroke Play format.

Tournament director Rohit Chandra expressed high hopes for the weekend’s festivities. “We’re looking forward to two great days of golf and community spirit. The tournaments will not only bring together regular members and new players but will also celebrate the legacy of the Gopal family, true supporters of golf in Ba,” Chandra said.

Both events promise a blend of competitive spirit and community camaraderie. The 2-Men Ambrose offers a team-oriented approach, while the Diwali Open allows individuals to showcase their skills. With social activities incorporated, a strong turnout is anticipated, fostering connections among golfers and enhancing the festive atmosphere.

This weekend’s tournaments represent more than just competition; they are a celebration of community ties and the enduring legacy of local support for golf. As players prepare to compete, the events also aim to inspire participation and promote a vibrant golfing culture in Ba, reflecting a hopeful future for the sport.
