The Ba Golf Club kicked off its season on Saturday with the General Machinery and Motors Ltd Summer Cup at the FSC Ba Golf Club. The tournament, conducted in a stableford format, attracted over 20 golfers from both Ba and Lautoka, who braved the wet and humid conditions for an enjoyable day on the greens.
Club captain Asish Chand expressed his delight at the participation and the enthusiasm shown by the players despite the challenging weather. “I’m very impressed with the outcome at the Ba Golf Club, even though it was wet weather with tough conditions and a hot day. People still enjoyed the tournament,” he commented. He also noted the presence of Lautoka golfers who came to practice their game in Ba.
The Summer Cup will unfold over four weeks, with players accumulating points each week to determine the overall winner in the final week. Chand conveyed his gratitude to General Machinery and Motors Ltd, particularly director Alvin Singh, for their sponsorship, emphasizing its importance in facilitating such events. “The club truly appreciates the backing from General Machinery and Motors Ltd.
