The Ba Football Association has appointed Mikaele Waqanicakau as the new team manager as part of its efforts to rebuild ahead of the 2025 season. Waqanicakau takes over from Vincent Ali, who has held the role previously. Ba FA president Dr. Diva Singh confirmed the decision and expressed gratitude to Ali for his contributions to the team.

“I would like to heartily thank Vincent Ali for his contribution and welcome Waqanicakau to the Ba family,” stated Dr. Singh. He also acknowledged the efforts of Timoci Seru, who served as the team captain last season, noting, “They will always be part of the Ba family.”

Dr. Singh emphasized the commitment of Ba FA to restore the club’s former glory, indicating that strategic changes are essential to establish a strong foundation for success. “We are making changes in areas where we believe improvements are needed to set up a winning foundation,” he added. The management has also indicated that further adjustments within the team’s structure will follow an upcoming annual general meeting.

Waqanicakau’s appointment marks a pivotal moment for Ba football, with an intense focus on strengthening the squad to enhance performance in domestic competitions. This aligns with previous strategic moves made by the Ba FA, including the recent hiring of Ronil Kumar as the head coach of the team, who has expressed excitement and determination to uplift the team’s performance following a lackluster 2024 season where no titles were won.

Both Waqanicakau and Kumar are poised to lead a revitalization of Ba Football, representing a fresh start with immense potential for success in the coming season. As the team builds towards a brighter future, fans and stakeholders alike are hopeful that these leadership changes will pave the way for rejuvenated competitiveness in local football.

In summary, the Ba Football Association’s proactive approach to rejuvenating its management with Waqanicakau and Kumar reflects a determined effort to restore the team’s prowess and engage the support of their dedicated fan base. With optimism brewing, Ba football is set to embark on an exciting new chapter.
