A 1-0 win for Dayals Sawmillers Ba FC against Blue Gas Navua FC marked the conclusion of the teams’ journey in the Group A stage of the 2025 BiC Fiji FACT tournament. Despite the victory, Ba and Navua were unable to advance to the semi-finals, as both teams accumulated insufficient points throughout the competition.

The only goal of the match came from Faazil Faizul Ali in the 30th minute, which showcased Ba’s fighting spirit amidst their overall disappointing run in the league. Navua’s head coach, Saiyad Ali, expressed concern over his team’s fatigue, stating that it impeded their performance in crucial moments. “This became the most crucial match for us; unfortunately, our players were really tired,” Ali remarked, highlighting the slow transitions in their game due to exhaustion.

Ba’s victory inadvertently paved the way for Ajay Trading Rewa FC to qualify for the semi-finals alongside Pacific Seafood Supplies Lautoka FC. Earlier in the day, Lautoka edged out Rewa with a narrow 1-0 win, further solidifying the semi-final arrangements.

The competitive nature of the tournament illustrates the vibrancy of Fijian football, emphasizing that while some teams face early exits, others use this as a stepping stone to greater heights. As clubs regroup and refocus for upcoming seasons, there remains hope for developing talent and better performances moving forward. The excitement for Fijian football continues, as fans can look forward to more engaging matches in the future.
