The Axellerate Aflame Brothers under-21 rugby team is expressing gratitude for the safe journey to Taveuni for the Fiji Bitter Wairiki 7s, which kicks off today. The team traveled from Sigatoka to Suva, where they boarded the MV Lady Daya, a vessel operated by Goundar Shipping, alongside other teams headed to the tournament.
Team captain Joeli Ratusala shared the team’s appreciation for the journey, stating, “Firstly, we would like to thank the Lord for his guidance and protection over us today as we left Sigatoka to make our way to Taveuni.” Ratusala, who leads the Wema, Navosa team, emphasized the importance of their participation in the Wairiki tournament, noting their history of involvement in Fiji Bitter 7s events over the years.
As multiple 7s competitions are also scheduled across the country this week, Ratusala highlighted the competitive spirit expected at the under-21 tournament, which features 16 teams vying for victory. He confidently stated, “Our aim is to achieve what we set out to do,” reflecting the team’s determination and focus as they prepare to compete.
