Bula FC’s head coach Stephane Auvray has expressed admiration for his players’ resilience and the squad’s depth following a 1–1 draw against South Melbourne FC at the Santos National Football Stadium. Despite missing multiple opportunities in the second half, Auvray found confidence in his team, especially considering the changes made to the starting lineup.

Auvray remarked, “Very proud, very proud, because as you could see, we played different players, and everybody responded. We know that we have a strong bench; whoever is playing on the bench, we have options, and everybody is engaged.” Although he noted that his side created more significant chances and could have clinched a win, he is optimistic for the future, citing that the overall performance showcases potential for the season.

He added that the team’s ability to work together, particularly in midfield and attacking positions, has been bolstered by consistent training, enabling smoother transitions despite lineup changes. Initially, the team started slowly but gradually improved their performance, with players who had seen less action recently stepping up.

“For me, what mattered was the way we started, very shy. But after 20 to 25 minutes, they started showing themselves. At the end of the day, we showed that we could play,” Auvray explained.

With a strong showing against the league leaders, Auvray remains optimistic about the squad’s growth and capabilities moving forward. Bula FC’s focus now shifts to their upcoming match against Tahiti United on Sunday, which will be broadcast live on FBC 2, offering fans a chance to see how the team builds on their recent progress. The season continues to hold promise for Bula FC, with Auvray confident in their development as a cohesive unit.
