Two prominent Australian boxers are set to participate in the South Pacific Boxing Promotions event scheduled for October 26 at Prince Charles Park in Nadi. This announcement was made by SPBP promoter Fred Chand after the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) granted sanctioning for the matches.

In the headline matchup, IBO Asia Pacific and Fiji super welterweight champion Winston Hill will go up against the powerful Lachlan O’Shea. O’Shea is a former Queensland titleholder with the Australian National Boxing Federation and recently pushed Australia welterweight champion Joel Taylor to the limit.

“Both IBO title fights will feature world-class fighters,” Chand stated.

Additionally, Sebastian ‘The Sniper’ Singh will have a significant chance to enhance his world ranking. Singh holds the World Boxing Foundation (WBF) Asia Pacific cruiserweight title, but he will be competing against the undefeated Sydney-based ‘King’ Tonga Tongotongo for the vacant IBO Asia Pacific cruiserweight title.

“To be the best in the world, you’ve got to fight the best. We’re grateful to Sebastian for taking this opportunity,” Chand expressed.

Record details from Box Rec show that Tongotonga has won all eight of his professional bouts. Chand mentioned that they are currently organizing the undercard and will issue an official release once it receives approval from the Boxing Commission of Fiji.

Furthermore, SPBP director Mohammed Shameem confirmed his plans to bring in well-known Australian ring announcer Steve Peios and a professional boxing referee for the event.
