Two prominent Australian boxers have been announced as participants in the South Pacific Boxing Promotions event scheduled for October 26 at Prince Charles Park in Nadi. SPBP promoter Fred Chand confirmed this after the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) endorsed the matchups.

In the main event, IBO Asia Pacific and Fiji super welterweight champion Winston Hill will go up against powerful contender Lachlan O’Shea, a former Queensland titleholder with the Australia National Boxing Federation. O’Shea has previously given Australia welterweight champion Joel Taylor a challenging fight.

Chand highlighted the high caliber of the participants, stating, “Both the IBO title fights will involve world-class boxers.”

In another significant match, local fighter Sebastian ‘The Sniper’ Singh will look to boost his world rankings as he defends his World Boxing Foundation (WBF) Asia Pacific cruiserweight title against unbeaten Sydney-based ‘King’ Tonga Tongotongo, competing for the vacant IBO Asia Pacific cruiserweight title.

“To be the best in the world, you’ve got to fight the best. We’re grateful to Sebastian for taking this opportunity,” Chand commented. According to Box Rec, Tongotongo remains undefeated with a record of eight professional victories.

Chand also mentioned that they are finalizing the undercard fights and will issue an official announcement once approved by the Boxing Commission of Fiji. Additionally, SPBP director Mohammed Shameem expressed plans to bring renowned Australian ring announcer Steve Peios and a professional boxing referee for the event.
