A 24-year-old farmer from Navosa, Ilaisa Tanoa Degei, remains in custody following a court appearance regarding serious allegations of sexual assault and rape against an Australian airline cabin crew member. The Nadi Magistrate’s Court, presided over by Magistrate Mareta Tikoisuva, heard the charges against Degei, which stem from an incident on New Year’s Day in Nadi.

During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Degei allegedly touched the airline employee’s private parts without her consent. Understanding the gravity of the accusations, Degei did not contest the charges.
