The defending champions, NZFFI Auckland All Stars, began their Pacific Community Cup journey with a solid 2-1 victory against Rewa at Churchill Park in Lautoka. In a thrilling match, Rewa’s John Orobulu, hailing from the Solomon Islands, caught the Kiwis off guard with an early goal just 56 seconds into the game. However, the Auckland All Stars quickly responded; guest player Hamish Watson found the back of the net in the 12th minute, followed by a decisive goal from veteran Samuela Drudru seven minutes later, securing the win for the All Stars.
