The NZFFI Auckland All Stars triumphed in the Pacific Community Cup, successfully defending their title at Churchill Park in Lautoka with a 2-0 victory over the Manukau All Stars. The team, coached by Josaia Bukalidi, secured their win with early goals from guest players Eber Ramirez and Nicolas Bobadilla.
Despite a determined effort from Manukau All Stars in the second half, bolstered by strong defensive plays from Mohammed Shuaib Khan and Gabriel Matanisiga, they were unable to break through Auckland’s defense. The Auckland All Stars had already demonstrated their prowess by defeating the host team Lautoka 2-0 in the semifinals, while Manukau achieved a similar result against the USA All Stars.
For their outstanding performance, the Auckland All Stars received a prize of $10,000 FJD, while Manukau took home $3,000. Mohammed Nabeel from Auckland was awarded the Player of the Tournament, with the Golden Glove going to goalkeeper Beniamino Mateinaqara. Manukau’s Garbhan Coughlan earned the Golden Boot for scoring seven goals, and the AuFFI All Stars were recognized as the Fairest Team of the competition.
