The NZFFI Auckland All Stars, reigning champions of the Pacific Community Cup, took a moment from their competitive schedule to engage with the local community by visiting the Nadi Centre for Special Education. The team generously donated $1,500 to support the students’ educational needs, specifically aimed at funding stationery for the 2025 school year. Additionally, they provided soccer balls to enhance the school’s sports programs.
Team Manager Kartik Reddy reflected on their past visit to the school in 2016 and expressed the importance of fostering connections with the community. He described the experience as emotional and enlightening, emphasizing how it served as a reminder for the team to appreciate the little things in life, which are often taken for granted back home in New Zealand.
Reddy also extended his gratitude to the sponsors—Rams Group of Companies Ltd, All in One Builders Company Ltd, Hyperchem Pharmacy, ITAX4U, 3DEES Electrical Ltd, and Smart Efficient Security PTE Ltd—whose contributions made this opportunity possible.
Looking ahead, the NZFFI Auckland All Stars are set to play against the USA All Stars later today. They currently lead Group B with three points following their recent 2-1 victory over Rewa, while IDC champions Labasa and the USA All Stars each have one point.
This act of kindness demonstrates the team’s commitment not only to their sport but also to making a positive impact in the communities they encounter. Such gestures inspire a sense of solidarity and hope, exemplifying how sports can be a powerful tool for goodwill and community support.
