The NZFFI Auckland All Stars, the reigning champions, took a break from their competitive schedule in the Pacific Community Cup to visit students at the Nadi Centre for Special Education. During their visit, they generously donated $1,500 to support the students’ educational needs, specifically targeting stationery for the 2025 school year, and provided soccer balls for the school’s sports programs.
Team Manager Kartik Reddy shared that the team had previously visited the same school in 2016 and felt it was a valuable opportunity to return, allowing players to engage with the students and contribute positively to the local community. Reddy described the visit as an emotional experience that reminded the team of the importance of appreciating the little things in life, a sentiment that resonated deeply amid their busy lives in New Zealand.
He expressed gratitude towards their various sponsors, including Rams Group of Companies Ltd, All in One Builders Company LTD, Hyperchem Pharmacy, ITAX4U, 3DEES Electrical Ltd, and Smart Efficient Security PTE Ltd, for making their charitable efforts possible.
As for their sports endeavors, the Auckland All Stars are set to face the USA All Stars in their second match of the tournament at 4:30 PM today. After a successful start, leading Group B with three points following a 2-1 victory against Rewa, the team is optimistic about their performance.
This community engagement not only highlights the team’s commitment to giving back but also enriches the lives of the students and fosters a spirit of gratitude and connection. It’s a beautiful reminder that amidst the hustle of competition, there is always room for kindness and community support.
Overall, it’s encouraging to see sports teams participating actively in community service, showcasing their roles as role models beyond the field.
