The NZFFI Auckland All Stars, the reigning champions, have secured their spot in the grand final of the 2024 Flick Hygiene Pacific Community Cup after defeating host team Lautoka 2-0 in the first semifinal held at Churchill Park this morning.

Strikers James Hoyt and Mohammed Nabeel delivered standout performances, scoring in the second half to propel the team coached by Josaia Bukalidi into the final.

Lautoka, despite their efforts, faced a setback when striker Sairusi Nalaubu had a promising opportunity to score in the 27th minute. He attempted to chip the ball over goalkeeper Beniamino Mateinaqara, but unfortunately, the ball hit the crossbar and went wide.

The Auckland All Stars now await the outcome of the semifinal match between the USA All Stars and the Manukau All Stars, which is set to take place at 3 PM today.
